Following Patrick (Jonathan Groff, in a deliberately annoying role, that was still somehow charming) and his group of gay friends in present-day San Francisco, the series was rightfully called out for centering a young, able-bodied white man. In an ideal world, it would have stood alongside similar HBO series like Insecure and Girls, taking its time to find its groove.
